Recipe of the Week
This week's recipe comes from my mom. It was a new recipe to her but she made it for Thanksgiving and we all loved it!
BEER BREAD
Ingredients:
3 cups self-rising flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 can of flat beer (open a beer and let it sit out for a couple of hours)
Mix all ingredients and pour into a loaf pan that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Drizzle melted butter over the top and bake at 375* for 50-60 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool until bread is just warm before cutting with a serrated knife.
Note: This bread makes wonderful toast!

I remember beer bread...alas, I am on salt restrictions so the self rising flour is a no-no...but it always smelled so wonderful baking...the yeasty bakery smell...
